The REAL difference between Floyd and Pac

This got mentioned in another thread about whether or not Pac/Cotto will outsell Floyd/JMM.

Bottom line is I want to see the fight. I don't care how many other people paid to see it.

Also, I think Pac/Cotto will outsell Floyd/JMM. But who gives a **** either way? Pac doesn't fight for the money. He fights for the legacy. That's the difference between Pac and Floyd.

Lebron James can get paid more than double what he gets paid in America to go play in Europe. He could get paid twice as much for half the work. Why doesn't he? Cos greatness isn't about money. Lebron James wants to be the best. And so does Pac. I wish I could say the same about Floyd.

Floyd is the greatest "BOXER" in the world. Who gives a **** if he fights for the money? He fights for the money and the legacy follows him. You guys don't understand how great of a fighter he is.

So... IF Pac gets past Cotto, what are you going to say when Floyd beats Pac?

Not only will he make the money (which, I agree shouldn't mean **** to fans), but he'll also add to the legacy.

It's this type of **** that makes people hate Mayweather fans.

Floyd wasn't getting 10 million dollars a fight for his whole career. He earned the spot that he's in. You don't just magically fight for the big pay checks, you start off low in thousands, hundred thousands, 7 digits, and lastly 8 digits. You act like he was given the spot he was in. He fought everyone that Bob Arum put in front of him. He fought everyone he had to fight to get to where he's it.

Floyd is the greatest Super Featherweight of all time, he did his dirt in SFW with 27 fights he cleaned out the whole division. Watching him fight now at WW is just a bonus. He's dominating fans favorite fighters one by one. Next i nline is the winner of Cotto-Pacquiao. Believe that.

If Pac fights for legacy then he should have agreed to face Cotto at his regular fighting weight! This fights is for the money, aint nothing wrong with that though fighters should get as much as they can will their able. I think fans worry about legacy more than most fighters do.

If Pac beats Cotto, there's no reason he shouldn't be considered a WW.

I'm not saying GETTING PAID TO DO WHAT YOU LOVE is a bad thing.

My point is that disregarding legacy and legit contenders and taking on fights that make maximum profits and "business sense" is a bad thing. Those are clearly two different ideals.

What did Floyd do when the heat was on from fans and critics for him to fight Margarito or Cotto? He "retired".

And no Floyd isn't the greatest super featherweight of all time. I'm not even old enough to have seen their fights, but in terms of all time Floyd is not close in the legacy department to guys like Azumah Nelson or Alexis Arguello.

Also, no IT'S NOT A BONUS for us to watch Floyd fighting at WW. He is not a "blown up" super featherweight. He was in his early 20's when he fought that light. As a fully grown and mature adult his natural weight in his early 30's is at 147.

The same way that a fully grown adult JMM at the age of 36 is still a natural 130 pounder. A 36 year old shouldnt have to pack on that much weight so that he can fight at 147.
