Look, I know that people on NSB still don't get it.
You know why Rolly gets shots.
He draws money.
He sells fights with his mouth, and despite being rough in the ring, he's an action fighter.
That's what the BUSINESS of boxing is all about. He's the modern day Mayorga. And when people say that, we're talking about his gimmick, not the in-ring. You people need to recognize gimmicks. That's how you sell tickets.
How the hell you go from losing by KO at 135, to a title fight @ 140? This is even worse than the WBC making Keith Thurman vs. Mario Barrios, a WBC Eliminator! Damn, and the alternative was WAY better:

Yeah I rated GRJ but he didn’t want it enough, far too inactive. GAR looks a talent, he’s built up a solid resume for a prospect/contender too. Postol and Barthelemy were both solid wins.
Rolando Romero knocked out in recently leaked sparring footage
Another day, another left hand that puts Rolando Romero away.

Well the important things is he’s got your attention of you reading articles about him and commenting on his fight lol that’s all that matter to him really
Is it really, because I don't plan on watching this fight - the only interesting thing about it is the obvious corruption, and how a fighter coming off a loss at 135, gets an immediate world title shot at 140 (and that fighter will have been inactive for 11 months).
But who knows, maybe I'll catch the highlights if I'm bored enough.
Romero vs Gervonta was well received by casuals and the public at large ... and got lots of mainstream attention. A great fight to see "after the fact" for the general public. Romero may not "deserve it", but he gets a great chance at making a real mark against Puello. Skill-wise this will be an excellent fight. If Romero gets KO'd his star will fade. It's also a great though unexpected challenge for Puello. Romero has lost of attention on him after the Davis fight. Puello can turn that to his advantage with a good win.
