its those types of fights that engrave fanhood into casual observers
If you can believe I am being sincere when i say this, I can respect and understand your P.O.V.

But My P.O.V is different from the aspect of I love to see a
great Tactical fight fought at a high level of skill. Such as the
    Aaron Pryor vs. Alexis Arguello
Floyd Mayweather vs. Casitillo 1 and 2
    Roy Jones vs. Tarver 1
Felix Trinidad vs. De la Hoya
    Pernell Whitaker vs. buddy mcgirt
    SRL vs. Wilfred Benitez

I am a Boxing Fan before I am a fight fan.
I prefer Season Skill over raw aggression
I prefer discipline over warrant less risk taking.

I am of the point of view that Boxing is an art.
    Not just **** fighting.

If a stylistic boxer uses his skills to Break down another capable Boxer it is really a thing of beauty. Some are beating mentally before they feel the pain. The shifts in footwork,The positioning and punch selection when they are combined are as much a skill as ANY other sport out there.

this is why i am boxing fan 1st
    fight fan 2nd

fair enough...i think that's what makes this sport special; it can provide options for all kinds of preferences...i too, have enjoyed the fights that you've listed...i dont think we can look down at either types of fans...the bottom line is that we're all under the same umbrella and are fans of the sport

JMM was the pound 4 pound #2 what you want Floyd to fight himself? everyone else below him.

You implied it. At the very least the entire thread is premised on the claim that there are two classes of fan, and that one loves Floyd, whereas the other is impatient with him.

                1. Fans do not fall so easily into categories.
                2. Floyd is merely one particular boxer among others. It is possible to dislike him and yet be a fan of "boxing." Distaste for a boxer does not make of a a fan a mindless junkie for blood and violence.

Thats legit I understand your position and I guess I would be a fight fan, I like watching the fights where a fighter lays everything out there. It doesnt mean I dont appreciate a Floyd Mayweather or Pernell Whitaker.

I just dont think its fair too say a technical fighter is boxing and an aggresive fighter is just fighting.

Antonio Margarito is just as much of a boxer as Floyd Mayweather.

A fighter willing to take 3 punches to land 1 isnt any less of a boxer as someone who is an excellent counter puncher. They are just merely two different styles.

They know about all he best fighters, and appreciate the different styles of all BOXERS, whether you brawl, or are a defensive wizard, counterpuncher, it does not matter. They are all boxers, and FIGHTING is their profession. They are loved and hated for what they do, but in the end, regardless of there style, a BOXER is what is the common thread every FIGHTER has. All fighters are boxers, and vice versa. They just have different styles. A style does not make anyone less of a boxer, or fighter.
I was trying to make him understand that in reality Boxing is just a subgroup of fighting. It is really just a technique/style of fighting. But he is still sticking to his definition.
