  • Comments Thread For: Landing Joshua Gives Jermaine Franklin Another Chance to 'Shock the World'

By Lyle Fitzsimmons - Maybe he's patient. Maybe he's not. Either way, Jermaine Franklin certainly has been waiting a while. The Saginaw, Mich. native has been a pro for nearly eight full years and has fought 111 rounds across 22 fights, but he's long been biding his time waiting for a significant opportunity. He spent his first seven years and 20 fights working the sport's less-heralded back rooms in cities like Youngstown,

So the best heavyweight in the world went life and death with Dillian Whyte who was completely hapless in his previous fight with Tyson Fury.

The best heavyweight in the world has Rydell Booker as his best win.

    Sommin ain't right.

There's really good fighters around now , no Charles Martin's anymore , Wilder , Joyce , Fury and even an in shape Ruiz .Joshua was offered Fury ,the biggest purse of his big purse career and a straight shot at the real titles ....he refused! Wilder offered $ 50m as then unbeaten WBC ...he refused. Instead the news comes he's fighting a nobody called Franklin , who just went life and death with Dillian Whyte ( and lost) , who was coming off a KO loss (having never won a round!) Em....then the plan is to fight Dillain Whyte who he's already KO'd and on PPV ....! Get in there suckers !

Almost a Rocky vs Apollo match, here. Of course aj is not as invincible as apollo was in the movie, but I imadine Franklin training in small dark gyms in his spare time while having to work at a shop during daytime...

What a lot of wasted energy trying to bash someone you are not even worthy to lace his shoe. Be useful with your life.

Are you saying Joshua and his team looked for an easier fight to rebuild after two straight losses?

              Gasp! I think you're right.

This is really a perfect match up for AJ. He can look spectacular and gain the public’s favor again and go after a top 5 fighter next. Franklin, wallin, wilder/ fury/ Ngannou

I'm saying this is a give me , after his head went so publicly and his confidence is wafter thin then I suppose he's got to start somewhere BUT then I would expect him to move it up a notch and not fight a guy he's already flattened and has been flattened twice since ....Gasp!

It makes me laugh when morons like yourself call it 'bashing' it's facts I've put forward...Joshua turned down the contests I've mentioned , it's not bashing it's just facts and with all Joshua's money you'd think he'd have a pair of 'shoes' to tie , be more useful with your life.
