Comments Thread For: Edgar Berlanga: I Already Know I'm A Star, I'm Ready For Big-Time Fights

When u never been knocked our or even beaten, and Bob Arum willingly lets u go, u know the old fox has a good reason. Because he doesn't generally let a promising fighter out of his contract. I think its Berlangas attitude. He's delusional and has an inflated opinion of himself. This can happen to punchers who fall in love with their power. They tend not to listen to anyone. Bob let him go so he can be punished and humbled. Like Wilder was when he got his narrow ass busted by FuryComment

Morrell is a dangerous fight for Berlanga, and anyone else in the 168 pound division. If Morrell is able beat his next 8 opponent's, like he did his first 8 opponent's Berlanga doesn't stand a chance against him.

Matias has that killer instinct, and power to match. He is devastating in the ring, and is going to be a serious problem for all of his future opponent's.

That definitely changes after February 25, 2023, but of course he has to defeat Jeremias Ponce first, which I think he will.
You hit the nail on the head when you stated that Berlanga is a draw, that's his current status, but he's no star he's got to stop that crap.
He hasn't beaten anyone in the top ten, and he hasn't fought in 8 month's, so he's off his rocker at the moment.
I don't know what Berlanga will accomplish going forward with his boxing career, I do know he needs to pick his choice's wisely.
Leaving Top Rank, appears to have turned out to be a financial bonanza for him, because the top 3 promoter's will initially pay him more than top Rank.
But Berlanga is going to have to return to the ring soon, stay active, and continue to win or all bet's are off, for his boxing future.
Browny on the other hand doesn't appear to need any help, you can put him in the ring against a gorilla, and the gorilla will have to see the Dr. afterward (lol).

Agreed! Now he has to prove himself against the top ten ranked fighter's in his division. That's what star's are supposed to do, but he's no star, not yet anyway!

Fact's! His next couple of fight's will be key, as to what trajectory his career will take. He better come back down to earth, and stay dedicated, focused, and disciplined. He's not completely wrong. I don't even think he's top 20 at 168, yet he's headlined cards at the Theater, it would seem every major promoters want to sign him since he's become a free agent and threads about him here usually get 20+ answers. I guarantee you his next fight is gonna get a lot of attention regardless of the opponent, even if a big chunk of the fans tuning in will do so to see him get knocked out.

Damn right.
Im a huge Matias fan I love his no nonsense all business personality. In the ring he's one of the most devastating fighters in the sport today. He will wreck Ponce and show the rest of the division he's arrived.
Matias is all business about furthering his career. He just became a Mexican citizen and with all the and top trainers sparring he can get there I have no doubt he'll prove to everyone thats he's one of if not the best 140lber in the world soon.Last edited by Regge; 02-05-2023, 09:47 PM.Comment
