Comments Thread For: Berlanga On Top Rank Split: They Tried To Slow Me Down; I Want Growth, Legacy, Money

Edgar Berlanga and Top Rank severed their promotional pact in January due to differences around how the super middleweight wanted to steer his career. The 25-year-old unrestricted free agent Berlanga (20-0, 16 KOs) is already in the midst of entertaining offers from a foursome that includes the likes of Al Haymon, Floyd Mayweather, Oscar De La Hoya, and Eddie Hearn.

This is misguided, Top Rank did a good job with him.

Bob knows Berlanga is always one fight away from getting knocked out. It's just a matter of time.. but sooner rather than later.

As much as i want to see him succeed, he seems to be his own worse enemy.

I say he has a following much greater than his talent so which ever group signs him please give him no more than 50k tops, and I will take my bonus later for saving you tons of money. I just need my 5K

He has heavy hands. You can’t build that with some folks. Undefeated is also pretty important. I would like to see him take his time and learn to box better. Get the buzz back - but you are not going to do that when you have some areas that are mediocre and want to fight champs right now!

At least he's got balls venturing out of his parents' house. He wants to fight win or lose, it's his career.

Others are offered fights, but they refuse and would rather play waiting game waiting for nothing until they realize it's been 2 years since their last fight.

Ok buddy go straight to Canelo, Plant, Morrell, then Benevidez and then Andrade.
He'll get that payday because of his mouth now but only once. So which one of those do you take a brutal beating from is the question.
I doubt he could get past Shishkin.
I really want to see him fight Bektemir the Bully.
