Speaking of Hagler, how about a fantasy fight between Hagler and a prime Roy Jones.

Arguments for both, that Roy would use athleticism to stick and move and get a points win. For Hagler, a point that he would break down Roy to the body and stop him late, or win on points.

Hagler was only at middleweight, and definitely arguably the greatest, or top 2 or 3 at worst.

Here's the problem with the modern boxing fan: Their favorite fighters are automatically all time greats. There is no way to conclude that Beterbiev is top 10 ever at Light Heavyweight without primarily using the eyeball test. We don't even know if he beats Bivol. How can you put him above guys that actually have better wins? He's going to beat Spinks because he crushed Joe Smith? There's just too much talent historically at Light Heavy.

"I thought Inoue looked considerably smaller than Nonito Donaire who is not as imposing as Fulton. ..."
Huh. Donaire did not look bigger than Inoue in their last fight. While I don't think Inoue can go above 122 -- his bones are just too petite -- he has put some meat on, and he's coming in at 118 fights looking *very* low body fat, very cut.

I think Inoue will be quite comfortable at 122, and seeing as he had an absolute surplus of power at 118, I think it carries up.

First time Fulton gets cracked, he's going to stand there in the pocket and try to trade blows, until he gets control of his emotions. I don't think that goes well for Fulton ... and Fulton needs to stop with the sort of wading in head forward and down, trying to put his body on his opponent. Inoue with take a little step back and club him with the left hook every time he does that.

That was a great response about advising Julian Williams not to use the jab.

In order to master your craft you have to learn the rules, but eventually you should be able to transcend and know when and how and why to break the rules too.

Hagler v RJJ is an amazing match-up. Hagler is much more, fundamentally, skilled in every way but RJJ's reflexes, foot speed & power were astonishing. I'm gonna say RJJ. SRL's movement frustrated Marvin but SRL obviously didn't have the scary power that RJJ had.

What sort of man writes in with this as an opener "Hey Mr Edwards,

Greetings and allow me to just pick your colossal boxing brain this time."
