  • Comments Thread For: Joe Joyce, Zhang Zhilei To Fight April 15 In London For Joyce's WBO Interim Heavyweight Title

Zhang Zhilei will get the opportunity to knock off an undefeated heavyweight again in his next fight. BoxingScene.com has learned that the Chinese contender will challenge Joe Joyce for the unbeaten Joyce's WBO interim championship April 15 at a venue to be announced in London. Joyce-Zhilei will match huge heavyweights who won Olympic silver medals - Zhilei at the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing and Joyce at the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro.

Zhang isn't the most skilled but he's one of the few in the division who looks as physically strong as Joyce, and he's tough with good power. He probably raised his stock with the Hrgovic loss as he looked better than expected and a lot of people had him winning. This should be a good fight.

Joyce and Zhang throwing big ****s at eachother? Sign me up.

Got to favour the Big Juggernaut to win.

Not bad seeing as Joyce doesn't have many other options

AJ amd Whyte will take easier fights lining up their rematch later in the year
        Wilder fighting Ruiz
        Fury fighting Usyk
And a lot of people felt he won Hrgovic

        So this ain't too bad

But after this, in the 2nd half of the year Joyce needs to get that big name fight

Good fight, the china man surprised me with his skill when he got robbed in his last fight.

It actually might go the distance

Left field fight. This should be a fun one. Glad to see promoters working together.

                  For sure, correct.

This fight may be great for boxing fans, but is it really great for Joyce?

He may win, but again this may be another fight he gets **** up in.

Joyce is winning fights, but he is also being beaten up in the process 'People underrate the beating Parker inflicted on Joyce'.

I saw a interview Joyce the next day after the Parker fight, and he was damaged.

By the time he gets his title fight, he may be burnt out etc.

Joyce if he really wanted to, could just tick over until he gets his title fight.

This is high level fight, and it is also dangerous fight.

Doesn't sound like a bad fight. Zhang has got some skills and arguably beat Hrgovic., or at least a draw.
