Is Lenox Lewis still not the lineal Heavyweight champ?

The saying is "to be the man, you have to beat the man". He retired as HW champ and is still the last HW to hold the unified belts and be undisputed champ. He's in his late 50s now but in the odd chance he decided to un-retire would he not be lineal champ and not Fury?

When the Lineal Champion retires without passing his titles on, a fight between the #1 and #2 of the division creates the next Lineal Champion.

No. There has been breaks in the lineage before.

The Lineal isn't a belt and no rule book. Really it's just a consensus title. Everyone will have their own opinion of it. For me if it's the man that beat the man then lineage has broken a few times so shouldn't even be a thing

But the consensus is what most people agree on. Lewis retired. Wlad Chagaev fought for it. Wlad became Lineal. Is the view of most people who want to acknowledge it so if it is a thing i'll go with that.

But really i think its a pointless debate like i said no set in stone rule book. Whereas with the actual belts there is, even if the organisations are a joke you know who has the belt

absurd.....when Klitschko faced Chagaev a new lineage was established.

By this logic the lineal title would still belong to Gene Tunney.
