But, honestly, Canelo probably loses to Bivol even at 168

Bivol`s jab, reach, work rate, speed will still be there. these things were an issue for Canelo, not Bivol`s power.

Bivol probably wins another 10 rounds and they will try to rob him again.

Robbery again. Bivol doesn't need this fight. Canelo ain't a cash cow without a huge opponent, so they won't offer Bivol 50/50.

Bivol has his number whether it be at 168/175
Canelo doesn’t have enough skills to neutralize all of Bivol’s weapons
Bivol will take his belts at 168 if Canelo wants the fight at super middleweight

If Bivol can make 168 healthy then he wins this easily. He won last time 10-2 or 9-3 at most. I believe if healthy he can improve deom his prior performance and win even more impressively.

Here's the thing, Bivol never fought at 168, so without a doubt, his strength and power is going to be severely affected/reduced. Basically, Bivol will not be as strong as he usually is.

There are lots of other factors to consider too, for example - Bivol's stamina, speed, punch resistance, reflexes, reaction time etc.

How do we know Bivol’s work rate, stamina, speed, power etc will be anywhere near what it was at 175?

Bivol being drained down to 168 is a DISGRACE.

Completely agree man. Fighters moving down to a weight to a division they’ve never fought at before generally ends in disaster.

People always said Chris Byrd could make Light Heavyweight easily, look what happened. Look what happened to Chad Dawson when he went down to 168 from 175.

I remember speaking to Andy Lee when he decided to move to 154 late in his career, and he said he felt like he’d stepped into a different person’s body.

I can see the appeal for Bivol to fight Canelo at 168lbs, but I don't like it. It's not every day you get to fight a cash cow you've already beaten for undisputed, however, if Canelo wins it will be blamed on the weight which may even discredit Bivol's win at 175lbs. What happens when each fighter has the argument that they each won the fight at their best weight? Does it become meaningless because of their size? Do we judge p4p? It'd be a mess.
