They were evenly matched during a sparring match back in 2015 I believe it was. I think they are still closely matched by Garcia appears to have improved more in the years since.
Garcia seemed to have regressed when he joined Reynoso's camp, polishing his limited array of skills and focused on conditioning. Eddie seems to have a lack of commitment with other fighters, opting to just handing them his resources or implementing half-assed skills of Canelo's style.
Now under the tutelage under Joe Goosen who trained the likes of the Ruelas Brothers, Shane Mosley, Amir Khan, Michael Nunn, Rid**** Bowe, Lionel Butler, and Diego Corrales. Ryan seems better rounded demonstrating more wrinkles to his game in his bouts against Tagoe and Fortuna.
Being that said I think Garcia could had already beaten Romero even if there were some hurdles.
Campbell having the experience of a golden olympian possess more of a challenge compared to Romero who heavily relied on his athleticism. Arguably he should have won against a prime Jorge Linares even with the knockdown after turning the tides in a competitive fight in the late rounds.
I think he would beat Ryan garcia. But I doubt this is true. He talks a lot of crap
They've sparred a lot years back. Rollie gave him a little bit of the business and landed a few punches, but nothing Ryan couldn't handle and overcome. Flash forward to now, Rollie will get knocked out cold. Rolly is too open and Ryan is too fast. Haney knocked Rolly out sparring, it's on YouTube. Haney isn't really a puncher either.
Rolly did so good against Stank because Stanky is smaller. Ryan is a good size now. I wouldn't mind seeing it because I'm a fan of Rolly.

Interesting to see that Goosen did improvements with Ryan within a single year in two bouts. Ryan's bout with Fortuna demonstrated that he could vary his shots, use footwork to avoid getting in the pocket and finally tucked his chin with a high guard.
