IBFP just posted a video quoting a source saying that Stephen Espinosa says that while a contract for this fight has not been signed is it common for contracts to be signed shortly before the fight and that a detailed agreement for this fight has been agreed to by the promoters, networks, and fighters.l Call me crazy but is not a detailed agreement signed by all parties called a CONTRACT on planet Earth. GEEZ!

First off I dont believe Espinoza said it the way it was quoted, but if he DID, then he was either talking about the difference between the lead promoter contracts and the local commission contracts, or just serving up a word salad. He knows better. Back when he was still the lawyer for golden boy, I co-promoted the Wink vs Ike Quartey fight with Golden Boy and handled all the site work. Espinoza sent me copies of the signed bout contracts 2 months before the fight, before we had even scheduled the first presser. He knows how it works. HBO would never have given us the date if the fight wasnt already signed......

Why come out and announce the fight with Ryan when nothing was signed? Then as soon as I saw Ryan claiming to not want a tune up i really became paranoid.

I feel like they both knew they wasn't fighting next and was using it to promote their next fight.
