Unbelievable the amount of whining and griping on the board about Arum favoring one fighter over the other. First of all with all the fights that have fallen through, we should all be glad Arum was able to get the fight done of course with the blessing of the fighters. As far as when the fight is taking place, it is totally a non issue. Loma just came off the war front a fought literally in 8 weeks.

Haney also has fought several fights in May including his fight with Linares and one of the Kambosos fight right after May and there were no issues so trying to create one here is totally ******. A promoter has to line his fight schedule properly with the economics and the fight does better business in May than March so it has very little to do with favoring one fighter. Even if that’s the case, it won’t be the first or the last time it’s been done in boxing. Loma is the bigger/popular fighter and probably moves the needle more. We all should be rooting for nothing to disrupt the fight and hope the best man wins

You speak as if Islam is a monolithic religion. Remember Jehovah's Witnesses and Southern Baptist are both self identified as Christians.

They need to stop believing in things that are not real and truth.

Well according to Haney Ramadan IS the issue. He said on Twitter wanted to fight before Ramadan because fasting would hinder him in training. AND he said TR knows he’s been having a hard time making 135. The tweets are still up- you can check for yourself.

I get Haney being undisputed and all that but also need to consider that ESPN is the one who gives Bob the fight dates he has no control over that. It isn’t Bob appeasing Loma, you gotta remember ESPN covers March Madness. Which is why March is usually a relatively quiet month for boxing on ESPN. They could care less about boxing in March.

April is tentatively set for Davis-Garcia & now Thurman-Spence. So it pretty much makes sense that they’d take the next month in May.

But where does it say Loma wanted to dictate when the fight took place? Where are you guys getting that part from. I haven’t read anything about Loma requesting any date for the fight. So how is this about Lomas Vs Haneys wishes.

the fight isn’t happening in March because of March madness. It’s that simple. April is tied up. May is the most logical soonest option

Props to Haney, he is the real deal as when the options are stacked against him he bets on himself to pull through.
Well if, as Bronx says, he can just make up later for not strictly adhering to Ramadan then maybe Arun hasn't given Loma the advantage he'd been hoping for.

Still struggling to forget about Haney's "white boy" racism though . . .

Regarding Bronx comment, That is only under exceptional circumstances, mainly due to illness that if fasting during the designated period could make you seriously ill. Haneys accepted the date so doesnt matter either way.
