Comments Thread For: Julian Williams Believes He'll Eventually Earn Middleweight Shot, Views GGG As The Man To Beat

Although he's won and lost some big fights, for Julian Williams, the biggest battle has always been the scales. Since turning pro in 2010, the Philadelphia native drained himself to make the 154-pound junior middleweight limit. At the peak of his powers, Williams emerged as the man to beat following his lopsided victory over former unified champion, Jarrett Hurd.

I like Julian Williams, but he didn't have a chin for 154. Like everybody else, he is hoping to catch the fading GGG. GGG should cash out against the highest bidder. Charlo, Munguia....who wants to buy GGGs titles? It won't come cheap.

Williams was a machine against the weight bully Hurd. Never looked so polished and composed since. Good hes back with breadman. Wish him luck at the new weight. Six pounds is a lot of weight for a fighter to not have to lose. He should try to get the Mungua fight. That's a fight I think he could win.

One hopes he's one of those boxers whose chin gets stronger as he goes up in weight but I dunno...

apart from Golovkin and Canelo its really been dead for more than a decade - amazing really for one of the original weight classes. I can't count Cotto and Martinez' cameos there either

Less be real now, the only person really beating GGG cleanly is Canelo who has a size advantage and big age gap at this point, but the rest of the contenders and so called champions have to show and prove in fact JW has no shot because GGG can still punch and he can't take it! GGG can be 50 and I would still pick him over many, especially JW.

GGG vs Mungia in Mexico sells a ton and it's his final fight IMO

Julian williams was my favorite fighter to watch. He wasn’t durable. He should become a cop.

I love watching this guy fight despite the flaw. Williams can get back to where he was with Breadman.

He can beat the Adames and Munguias of the division.
