Boots needs a few more tuneups, IMO

Hasn't he already fought 30 tuneups in a row? He should fight a top 10-15 guy next. But it's not all his fault. Cameron Dunkin is notorious for feeding his guys lots of stiffs to KO to pad their record, like with Brandun Lee. Not saying Boots is a bum but how many more pushovers does he need?Comment

Definite skills, but the hype is bigger than his record at this point. He needs a top ten fight.Comment

Step-ups not tune-ups
A Thurman or Porter would be the perfect opponents for him to prove he is at that next level. Porter is done and Thurman is gonna somehow fight Spence for all the titles insteadLast edited by Jsmooth9876; 01-09-2023, 06:28 AM.Comment

If not Spence, he must fight somebody like Butaev, Crowley next.
Ennis is a top 5 in division, he must be ready.Comment

- - Clunky Bootsy need some better footgear, footwork, and training, but hey, ho, the general drift in boxing today is staying relevant for one of the belts to open up for a vacant title.A few things I noticed about Boots last nite where:
1)His inability to cut off the ring, Karen ran circles around him the entire fight
2)His lack of defense, Karen kept hitting him flush w/t that left hook all night
3)Inability to adapt and change game plans when something ain’t working, Boots was head hunting all night & kept swinging @ air more than once
4)Lack of conditioning, dude has never gone 12th rounds before so is understandable but still kid seem beat after the fight
Again, not hating on the kid but if an unknown Euro able to push Ennis to his worst performance thus far don’t want to see what Bud or Spence do to him. Honestly, the kid needs a few more tuneups against solid opposition such as Mean Machine or Butaev caliber fighters before he fights for a belt.
See Stiverne vs Arreola that yielded the first ever Haitian Hvy Champ propped up by WBC for Deyonce to beat for the few Americans left that follow boxing to beat their chests in American superiority again.Comment

Nobody giving credit to Karen for the performance. Who can fight like him for 12 rounds, his legs never stopped moving and it wasn't only the moving but the angles he would give Ennis especially when he was at the lefty position.
Ennis is ready for any of the champs, a fight with a solid top ten guy where he cannot get away with some of the things that he does to second tier opposition would be good for him. He has to stop looking for the KO and use his skills in a more relaxed fashion.
He has a good defense but does get hit flush at times, I want to see how he will react to opposition.Comment

Karen is a veteran and if you know how to fight and don't wanna get KO'd you can easily make it a long night for anyone. Just Like Mikey vs Spence or Pacquiao vs Mosely. I think it's now or never for Boots no need to regress. It's hard to stay responsibly defensive when the other guy is not trying to fight. As far as his conditioning it was superb considering Karen ran all night and Boots tracked him all night with his punches losing no steamA few things I noticed about Boots last nite where:
