I log in to my favorite boxing forum after a sabbatical, expecting to find some insightful discussion on the sweet science. Instead, I'm met with seemingly endless childish posts full of one-upmanship by big-ego faux toughs.

I was excited about the headline on a high profile upcoming fight between Ryan Garcia and Gervonta “The Tank” Davis, but I had to wade through endless jabber on who knows more about street drugs, and thinly-veiled assertions as to which posters are gay or not.

I was hoping for more insights on the fighters or the fight itself, but instead I got bogged down trying to read through these mindless discussions.

It's a disappointing turn of events, to say the least.

I'm starting to wonder if 90% of the posters on this forum even have successful lives and hold down careers of their own. They are very immature. A lot of the time, they don't seem to have any idea what they're talking about, and they just come across as whiny and entitled. I'm not saying that everyone on the forum is like this, but it's definitely a majority. And it's really starting to turn me off from the whole thing. I don't want to be associated with a bunch of people who act like this.

The forum has always been a place for passionate boxing fans to come together and discuss the sport we love. But now it seems like it's just a breeding ground for internet tough guys. If this trend continues, I may one day be forced to find my boxing community elsewhere.
