Demetrius Andrade: Lara a Last Resort, I’d Fight Jack Culcay

    https://www.boxingscene.com/amp/deme...culcay--106350

“He won’t engage or try and make the fight entertaining, especially if it’s coming into my favor,” Andrade explained. “He’s just going to survive, try to run, try to do the little pitty-pat counter punches. I’m not about that right now. I’m about sitting in there, doing what I need to do best, and letting the fans know that I’m willing to get in there with anybody and put on a show and make ends meet.”

Interestingly, while Andrade doesn’t want the WBA “super” titleholder in Lara, he would be OK with facing the secondary titleholder, Jack Culcay, who holds the sanctioning body’s “regular" belt. Andrade doesn’t know much about Culcay.

“I just heard of his name, that he has the WBA,” Andrade said. “I’m trying to get a title shot so I can put a belt up against Charlo where it’s big, not me trying to fight for the belt he has, even though I’m going to take it.”

ANDRADE PULLS OUT OF CHARLO FIGHT OVER MONEY, COMMUNICATION ISSUES

The father and trainer of WBO junior middleweight beltholder Demetrius Andrade says his son will not go through with a scheduled Dec. 13 title defense against Jermell Charlo, a fight he says was never finalized, due to the amount of money that was offered for the bout that was part of a Showtime tripleheader.

“I mean, $250,000 for Charlo is ridiculous. That’s what they offered, but we did not ask to make the fight or look to make the fight. We waited until the last minute for them to come back with a better offer but it just didn’t happen.”

Pelullo partially disputed Paul Andrade’s account, saying that the boxer, through his manager, Ed Farris, was offered an amount higher than $250,000. Showtime offered Andrade $500,000, according to a source familiar with the purse numbers.”

(This is funny because this was Andrade just after the Vanes fight. He already thought he was a million dollar fighter and $500k was already too little of a purse for him. That’s how you know this guy’s career was going to be in trouble at the top level.)

This guy has a clear as day track record of not wanting to put it in that work. He calls out and calls out the top guys, but I can’t just go on a youtube and demand I get the Mega Millions lottery without playing it, then cry about when I get told no.

That’s what Andrade has been doing all his career. Asking for big fights, asking for millions, without even driving to the gas station and buying his ticket, playing like everyone else. He’s just demanding the Mega Millions jackpot be handed to him.

This way, Cinnabon can't continue to avoid them because they will fill all of the mandatory slots. But knowing how the sanctioning bodies treat Ginger, he will still be allowed to face any Euro-boxer available.
Andrade has made an entire career of bad decisions, but finally moving to PBC can right those wrongs. I remember posting a few months ago that the only move Andrade has is to go to Al and Espinosa for the rest of his career. He has ten fights between 160-175 over at PBC to end his career. Actually if everything goes well in 2023, PBC can give us some of the best fights in boxing: Andrade v Jermall - Spence v Bud - Tank v Ryan - Jermell v kudzoo - Wilder v Ruiz - Plant v Bene - Boots v Speedy...etc. Like he said FUQ Ginger let him have his world tour just give the belts up!

Talk about double standards.
He was promised Blow Job Saunders, 3G, Clenelo and Mungia and Hearn couldn't deliver none of them to Andrade on the same platform. It's funny how people have sooo much hate for Andrade for not fighting the big fights but go radio silent on Triple G. This guy hasn't fought anyone meaningful since his Dazn deal except for that boring ass fight with Clenelo. Isn't his next fight in the land dhowne uhnda? No one mentions anything about that. I wonder why???

Many of us are enjoying Golovkin living in your head rent free. Keep the name dropping tho it’s hilarious. Golovkin has 36 full rounds against what many call the best fighter of his era. When this dude has 1 minute worth of that we can talk. Til then let him keep running his mouth just like you do. Golovkin is almost out of here tho, you’ll have to find another target. Andrade didn’t have to fight for Pennies across the world only to come here and get frozen out as too high risk. Andrade is frozen out because he doesn’t have any of the three elements. Personality, an entertaining style, or a highlight reel. He isn’t the only one in boxing currently suffering from the “I deserve it” but. Sometimes you have to step out of your comfort zone and bring attention to yourself. He doesn’t, hasn’t and won’t. Like it or not, boxing is a business and we are guilty of shifting it in that direction as fans. He’s just like rigo, boring to watch and boring to listen to.

Really Zero demand for andrade, fans dont care about him, on top of that demanding the A guys to fight him but unwilling to fight the B guys...
hopefully we will see him and the rest of the talent around his weight class to fight each other...
