Yeah that’s a good point. Thurman being mandatory is a joke. Had Spence fought Thurman at the end of the year I wouldn’t have been as opposed to it, but Errol generally fights once a year nowadays and if his one fight in 2023 is burned on Thurman that’s a real waste IMO.

I think he'll fight twice in '23, but the question is who? Thurman and Crawford, or Boots and Crawford! I hope it's not Thurman! Thurman is a better opponent than Avanesyan, but he doesn't deserve to come off a loss to Pacquiao, then fight a Jr. WW, and then get a title shot! Let him fight Yordenis Ugas or Cody Crowley!
