Following what amounted to his first title win, Stanionis (14-0, 9 KOs) attempted to force the hand of Spence. But, despite his public demands and acrimonious words, it appears as though the powerful southpaw will go in another direction.
pretty criminal what has happened in this situation, stanionis thought he "had the paperwork" showing he had first right to that fight.

spence defense force in full effect

Probably plays out similar to Vergils fight with Kava although I think Vergil fights behind that ******* jab of his out the gate. Stan isnt taking those bodyshots he was taking against Butaev from Vergil for very long,he gets broken down around the same time as Kava. Ortiz by bodyshot KO around rd9-10.

Stanionis deserves this opportunity. Stanionis took on a tough fight in Butaev to get Spence. It's criminal what WBA and Haymon have done to his life and career. Honestly, even if UFC only pays 10-20k a fight, the consistency seems better than the boxing roller coaster.

Stanionis is a dangerous fight for Vergil Ortiz. There's no date yet. Why do I feel like this fight won't happen?

When sanctioning bodies don’t enforce the rules and make title holders fight best contenders, their plastic belts will lose their value. Fans should just look forward to the good matchups
