Comments Thread For: "Bozy" Ennis: "Spence Is Not Scared, It's Business, Boots Is High Risk, Low Reward"

Boot is young and understand the game. I think he'll take the step aside money but it would have to be a good amount. But it all boils down on who he wants to face for the belt. Does he want Spence or does he simply want to collect a belt? We'll see. But I do hope Spence Crawford is for Undisputed. It needs to be.
NOW ?? Is that still the case? I'm not sure either Spence or Bud defeat Ennis and I'd give Ortiz a chance to beat Bud as well,
Bud-Errol waited too long to fight - so while I want to see the fight I'm indifferent about whether its for all the belts 'cos even if it is, it won't settle who is the best fighter at 147 for me.Last edited by SteveM; 12-29-2022, 04:02 PM.Comment

It's the circle of life in a boxing career.
Spence was in Boots position earlier in his career. He was considered high risk, low reward before his fight with Kell Brook when he won the title.
Unless you have the fanfare from an Olympics or major backing from a big promoter then highly talented kids like Ennis are not going to be considered worth the risk from name fighters until they get mainstream attention.
Like Spence, if Boots keeps winning he'll become a star of the division in time too. Just gotta keep knocking on the door, beating the guys they put in front of him.Comment

Not really, Boots has already said that after his Karen fight, he wants the winner of the Stanionis-Ortiz fight, so there has to already be some talks taking place of stepping aside if Spence-Crawford is made. It would be in his best interest anyway, seeing as how difficult it is to get all the belts from different champions to undisputed. I'm not stating the difficulties of the fights, I'm speaking of the difficulties of the fights being negotiated and made into a reality. The winner between Bud and Spence, SPENCE, will have all of the belts, which would allow Boots to fight one champion for undisputed, eliminating the bullshxt of promoters, networks, and the business of making four separate championship fights.Comment

This is why nobody cares about Boxing anymore when you got these statements. Everybody thinks their guy will be the next Canelo or Mayweather and want to just fight C level fighters once or twice a year and we say their P4P haha.
147 is nothing but the Welter-Wait division, nobody wants to take a risk anymore. Boots is dam near ready to fight either Crawford,Spence or Ortiz, stop with this “business”talkComment

Spence has been struggling to make 147 for at least 2 years! Had he fought Crawford in 2022, and won, he would be @ 154 in 2023. Now the Crawford fight didn't happen in 2022, then he has yet another car accident, and he's talking about coming back in April or May of 2023. If he fights Thurman first, then Crawford, Boots never see Spence until he moves to 154! Bozy sees what's happening, and made the power move! Hell nah, you come back and fight Boots in April, then Crawford! Boots is not taking a back seat to Keith Thurman! They tried to make Keith Thurman fight Boots, Keith said he didn't know who Boots was! GTFOH! Bozy made the right play! You come back in April and fight Boots, or you fight Thurman and vacate the IBF title! I totally support this move!

It did need to be for undisputed. That was then - 2 years ago when Spence-Crawford were unquestionably the best 2 ww fighters.
NOW ?? Is that still the case? I'm not sure either Spence or Bud defeat Ennis and I'd give Ortiz a chance to beat Bud as well,
Bud-Errol waited too long to fight - so while I want to see the fight I'm indifferent about whether its for all the belts 'cos even if it is, it won't settle who is the best fighter at 147 for me.
Where is his Danny, Porter, when he was a champion, Mikey, Ugas, and others that we were able to gather the answers to how Spence would fare against the top in the division? While I do think that he is very talented, I just can't say that he is on Errol's level until he finally fights someone of a higher caliber and looks just as dominant as he has thus far. So, when Spence puts the beats on Crawford, he should be held up as the best in the division, and also with the best resume in the division bar none.Comment

Bozy doesn't seem like one to knock a guy. He's trying to give Spence the benefit of the doubt. But the ppl who control Spence's career(PBC), have shown time and again that they'll steer their guys away from dangerous fights. Even though Al Haymon is a shadowy figure who never speaks or even shows his face, u can see his business model by the moves they make. I'm sure his attitude is something like this- "I'll help you get rich. I'll get u easy fights and let u keep a much bigger chunk of the money whereas previous promoters from years past will throw u in with killers, plus keep most of the money for themselves. then, when ur retired, u end up broke with brain damage and the fans don't care. They'll say, "he was a warrior", while ur slurring ur words and can barely walk. So let me control ur career. I'll pay u more than they would, and you'll never be in danger. Don't worry about legacy. I'll find u guy with good winning records who have only been fighting in their country, faded Champs who are past their prime but still have a name, smaller guys moving up, guys coming off knockouts or hard fights, guys who have been very inactive. We'll put spies in their gym to see how they're doing. If they look too strong, we'll pull out of the fight or find a way to postpone it. We will milk this game and the fans for every dime we can, and won't give them what they need, cuz they don't love u. They wanna see u fight the best, but i don't wanna see none of my guys ever get hurt. I want u all to leave boxing rich with all ur brain cells. F..k them fans"Last edited by archiemoore1; 12-29-2022, 05:26 PM.Comment

I hate the business aspects of boxing. That said, I get it but if if Spence and Crawford are going to fook around. Give these up and comers a chance. We ALL known these young elites are the FUTURE if the division. Old farts, fight each other, or just retire.Comment
