Actually, Ford has a very interesting life story that involves using boxing as a way to keep young, poor youths in the lower income areas of Baltimore off the streets and away from trouble by inviting them to the gym and offering to train them, which is how Tank got his start. You should look it up.

I find that hard to believe (I'm very skeptical).
No athlete becomes an athlete not expecting to win that sports biggest title/trophy/honor.
Especially non team athletes.
