Comments Thread For: Hector Luis Garcia On Tank Showdown: "I Have Advantages That People May Not Realize"

Facing Gervonta Davis comes with several arduous and frightening factors. For starters, considering his star power, fighters who take on the Baltimore native are forced to deal with the magnitude of his awe-inspiring events. Secondly, and seemingly more importantly, Davis (27-0, 25 KOs) has a penchant for the dramatics. With the 28-year-old sporting a knockout percentage north of 92%, his foes are often left unresponsive on the canvas.

One big advantage is Hector is not out here getting arrested for Domestic Violence 2 weeks b4 the fight! Tank is undisciplined, and he might pay for it, both inside and outside the ring! Anyway, in other boxing news...

Rey Vargas vs O’Shaquie Foster set for Feb. 11, vacant WBC title at junior lightweight

The anticipated fight between Rey Vargas and O’Shaquie Foster now has a date, as Mike Coppinger of ESPN.com reports that the bout will headline Showtime’s Feb. 11 card from San Antonio’s Alamodome.

Vargas and Foster will be fighting for the vacant WBC junior lightweight (130 lbs) title. The previously-reported fight between Subriel Matias and Jeremias Ponce, for the vacant IBF junior welterweight (140 lbs) title, is also still on the show, making for a nice combination of matchups.

whats the likelihood of the Garcia-Tank fight takes place in the first 6 months of this year ?

      For:
      they both seemingly want it
it's the biggest winnable fight for either of them

      Against:-
      Tank might lose to Hector
Tank might get injured in same fight
Tank might get incarcerated for a/ domestic violence b/ driving like an irresponsible nutter
      Ryan might start cryin
      Ryan gets injured
      The fight still isn't signed
DAZN/PBC throws a spoke in the wheels
      Some other unforeseen calamity happens

I'd say it's 50:50 at best and that's me being optimistic

One big advantage is designer.steroids. dominican republic has some of the best undetectable steroids on earth. Thats how they send so many baseball players to the major leagies, and thats how all of a sudden all these dominicans.are winning world titles in boxing. Dominicans.cheat in everything. Just like they sell basura. They run every scam in the book.

I hope this fight goes ahead, because now it seems unsure. Oh well, there are fighters on standby, that's the usual practice.

It would be ironic, because Tank had an opponent pull out on him, that was Rolly Romero. But he eventually fought him, and ko'd him. The replacement Isaac Cruz was a much tougher opponent than Romero, as it turned out.

Well, that’s all dependent on whether they revoke his Vegas bail or the bail on his other case. That’s three, three active cases at some point a judge is going to want to have him held. Money can make things go away except angry judges and he’s been fortunate he hasn’t encountered one yet. Ask Broner how life went when he started stacking cases…

My man, I dont know what Dominican digged the love of your life out and hurt you but get help. Most Dominican baseball players in DR live hand to mouth, so you talking steroids like that is a whole bunch of bullshhh. Why are Dominicans good at baseball? It’s called bitilla or caps. Why? Cause folks who can’t afford baseballs adapt, so the cape on those 5 gallon of water is what they used. You start hitting that over and over again from the age of 5 and see how huge a baseball looks to you by 15. Also, DR has like three notable fighters historically. So again, get the hatred out of your heart and either support or dont But leave the estrogen filled lies at the door. Do steroids in dr exist? Yes just like they do in every country. Unless you are a huge prospect you are not seeing the kid of money required to even buy them. Again, go look at what professional players in dr earn and tell me how an amateur can afford designer steroids.

"I don't have to be careful".....what??Good luck with that. Can't think of a single advantage he has over Tank except for height.

I don't hate Dominicans just stating that they cheat. Having said that, some notable dominican fighters over time have been Teo Cruz, Vilomar Fernandez, Merqui Sosa, Joan Guzman. I knew Manuel DeLeon who fought Buddy McGirt. He was a good dude. So I'm not anti Dominican. I'm just anti-cheating in boxing
