This is the fight Ellis & Boots should make happen; similar to Martin/Rivera. Top prospect fights used to be the norm, a loss does not hurt either’s career

Or he could have enforced it earlier.
They’re fighting on the same card next month, hence building hype for a potential match-up to follow this summer/fall. Ellis has been out of the ring for 2 years (outside of a 1st round TKO in July) He needs the activity before jumping in with a guy like Boots or anyone top contender.

The real question is would Boot’s risk his mandatory position against him when he doesn’t have to.

They don't know what they have with Ennis, they hope it's something good. But if they can make something out of Ellis by giving him a shot that's a win too. I don't think it's too big of an upset if Ellis were to win either, it's a good fight. And they want to fight each other so I'm 100% down to see this.

Still trying to figure out who Ennis beat that makes him this feared fighter that nobody wants to face.

This is a common statement fans make. When u say a fighter hasn't fought anyone, who would "someone" be? If you go by the logic that almost every fighter is a nobody, then there are probably only a few fighters in each division with big name recognition. So unless a guy has fought one of those few big names, no one else he fought, matters. I think very highly of the so-called nobodies, because these are the guys that look at a dangerous, talented guy like Boots Ennis, and say, "get me a contract, I'll fight him". That takes a lot of courage, and belief in yourself. The worst of these nobodies could turn the average critic into a vegetable within 30 seconds or less inside of a ring with gloves on

Ellis and Ennis are fighting on the same card, so maybe they'll start building a match-up between them. Ellis has also been very inactive, so maybe he wanted a tune-up before jumping into a tough match-up against Ennis.

For some reason, I get Randall Bailey vibes from Boots. This man has been a pro for 6 years!!!!! 6 years and hasn't beat or fought another top 10 fighter yet. What will he do when he can't knock every guy out that he touches..
