Comments Thread For: Sergio Martinez Eyes Golovkin: I Know He Can Kill Me, I Also Know I Can Give Him a Boxing Lesson!

At 47 years old, and ranked at third in WBA's middleweight rankings, former two-time world champion Sergio "Maravilla" Martinez is certain that in 2023 he will get a new opportunity to fight for a world title and he aims to challenge Gennady Golovkin - even if his life is at risk.

Prime maravilla would’ve boxed circles around bumlovkin if he did it at this age I’d be surprised tho.

This fight would've been cool ten years ago. Now it's just silly.
Sergio should go beat up Jake Paul instead.

Would have been a great passing of the torch moment had Golovkin fought Martinez prior to the knee injury. Instead Martinez lost the belt against Cotto while rehabbing a bum leg.

Loved Maravilla but Golovkin was always wrong for him. 10 years ago I still would have loved to see it. Now? Be like watching an old and beloved canine companion get run over by a car.

I really wish Sergio would just leave those gloves hanging because this 'return' ain't going to end well.

I expect in reality he will fight Tom Zoo.
