Tris Dixon is normally a good writer but he can't subtract 2022 from 2016 and he is never going to convince me that Liam Smih at 160 is a good matchup with Eubank.

Eubank would have been eaten alive by Golovkin in 2016. He knew it. His dad knew it. That's why they lost their pen and Kell stepped in like a true warrior and took the risk jumping up 2 divisions. That'd be like Eubank jumping up two divisions to take on Beterbiev now - and any such notion is laughable because we all know how Eubank jr is a hyped fighter who is now very carefully matched and he would never even dream about stepping up to 175 much less fight either Bivol or Beterbiev.

I hope Golovkin avoids giving this chancer any opportunity for a belt. Rather see Munguia get a chance and I'm no big fan of Munguia either.

Jr. , living off his fathers name could make a lot of interesting fights , he just doesn't want to.

Even the version of GGG that lost to Canelo would deal with Eubank easily.

Eubank is the worst type of moral coward, he had his chance in 2016 and shat himself.

Eubank Jr. is a very sad and delusional individual. To still be begging for a GGG fight all these years later is truly pathetic, especially after melting down to 157 to fight a UK hype job welterweight for an Eddie Hearn special. Even his father now realizes how pathetic he is. The only difference between Eubank Jr. and Chavez Jr. is the fact that Chavez Jr. used drugs. Other than that, same guy.

It wasn't his fault, it was Senior trying to pull Boss S.

              https://www.sportbible.com/boxing/ch...fight-20220116

In 2020, promoter Eddie Hearn spoke about his efforts to negotiate the fight with Eubank Jr’s father, former two-weight world champion Chris Eubank Sr.
"I was trying to do a deal with Chris Eubank Jr. It was me, Chris Eubank Jr and Chris Eubank Sr negotiating a deal. We’d agreed all the terms of the deal," Hearn told BBC 5 Live.

"Then Chris Sr looked at me and said, 'Edward, there’s one more thing. In your father’s office is a picture of me punching Nigel Benn. It also has the official scorecards from the fight, you must remove the picture and give it to me. If you do I will sign the deal’.”
You can literally hear English's lisp saying that.

Elder Hearn refused to give the photo up.

The elder Hearn stubbornly refused to hand over the picture and Eubank Sr subsequently pulled his son out of the negotiations. Or so the story goes.

              ...

Eubank Jr claims he wasn’t present during those final negotiations and is unsure if the photo story is genuine, but insists he was fully prepared to face Golovkin before talks broke down.

“I have no idea why Eddie would say that if it wasn’t true,” Eubank Jr told SPORTbible, after being named an ambassador for 888poker.

“It came out of nowhere. He has no reason to say that if it isn’t true but it does sound strange obviously. At the end of the day the only people who will know is him and my father.
Junior wasn't in the room. This was one of the reasons Junior started doing his own thing.

sounds like an urban myth to me, its a eubank double act, look how jr fought to save the benn fight with his daddy on the warpath for weeks

                nice story tho

Come on. Read it out loud in Senior's voice. You can clearly hear him say something like this just to be petty.

Junior wanted the Benn fight for easy money off their last names. Senior knew Benn was juicing, that's why he went on the radio and podcasts talking about "them" trying to "kill Livingston". It was probably Senior who dimed Benn out. Remember, he failed TWO tests and Junior knew about the first failure but wanted to go forward anyway. That's greed.

exactly u hit the nail on the head, easy money, ggg at that stage was not easy money, he would have spattered eubank and everyone knows it, therefore they all lost the pen, actually there never was a pen in this case, both jr and sr knew that fight was never a runner for jr, i think

Too bad Jr lost his pen when golovkin fight was right there for him...too bad the eubanks got cold feet and kell brook ended up paying a high price.
