  • Pacquiao is a Blown-Up Featherweight, Says Santiago

Miguel Cotto's trainer Joe Santiago is under the impression that Manny Pacquiao is a blown-up featherweight. He says the streak of Pacquiao has been impressive so far, but everything will come to an end when Pacquiao steps in the ring with Cotto on November 14 in Las Vegas. He says Cotto's strength is going to be one the key factors in their victory. [details]

"Everything went very well. The plastic surgeon's work was excellent and do not notice anything about the injury. I do not think that is something for one worry. That was not the first time that Miguel was cut and none of his previous cuts have been opened then. "

good to hear cotto got plastic surgery done on the cut. now he shouldnt have problems with that cut. good post bmw.

After his resounding victory over Juan Manuel Marquez on Saturday, Floyd Mayweather immediately mentioned his desire to fight against Manny Pacquiao. And HBO boxing commentators choir made him virtually ruling out a victory over the Filipino Miguel Cotto on November 14.

But these comments, nor the general feeling among the so-called experts, most of which occur as a favorite to Pacquiao, undermine confidence in Joe Santiago, coach Cotto.

"Manny Pacquiao is a bloated 126 pounds. He is a fighter who started at 108 pounds and has reached the 145. It is very bold and so far has gone well, but on 14 November history will be different, "said Santiago to El Nuevo Dia

"We feel great respect for their careers and our hats for all he has done in boxing, but that day Michael's going to be the strong man in the ring. That will be one of the points in our favor, "he added.

Cotto and his working group, headed by James and trainer Philip Landman, began this week his barracks in Tampa, after several weeks of training on the island While Pacquiao finally began preparation Tuesday.

"We heard that they had not begun training, with discord and problems in training camp, but that's their problem. We do not eat any stories, "said Santiago, ensuring that in the early sparring that has made Cotto has had no problems with the injury he suffered in his left eyebrow in his fight against Joshua Clottey in June and they took 22 points suture.

"Everything went very well. The plastic surgeon's work was excellent and do not notice anything about the injury. I do not think that is something for one worry. That was not the first time that Michael was cut and none of his previous cuts have been opened then. "

Santiago also reported that Frederick TUKES lefty will be the first 'sparring partner' which will Cotto in Tampa. TUKES, who at 36 years and six active on professionalism has made only 9 fights (7-1-1), was sparring partners when he trained for Cotto Zab Judah.

"We will use several small people who are lefties very similar to what Manny may bring," James said, anticipating that Cotto could do a number of rounds of sparring similar to that made for the Clottey fight, which was "between 120 and 130 ".

I don't think he's either, it's just Joe doing his Roach impersonation.

Pull has been adamant about Cotto's retirement if he loses to Pacquiao.
