      I think you become "Super" champions if you A) make a certain number of defenses, or B) unify with another sanctioning body's champ.

        I don't know but Jon had the title for a while.Gamboa should have never fought for the the ninterim now turned regular title anyway.

          When Gamboa fought for and won the interim title, I had hoped that he would fight John in the future. When John was upgraded to "Super", the chances of that happening decreased.

          I don't see Shane Mosley, WBA "Super" Welterweight Champion, fighting Vyacheslav Senchenko, WBA Welterweight Champion, anytime soon.

              That's true, but I think John-Gamboa would be a fight that people would want to see.

              Gamboa-John would be an entertaining (IMO) fight between the best fighter in the division against a dynamic offensive fighter. Much more to like about that than Mosley-Senchenko.
