I don't know about that last part of your statement, but Chris Hanson is biased as hell, and doesn't know what he's talking about.
The fighter's that he criticized in his post, are deserving of the fan's respect, because they are skillful, highly ranked, and champion's.
I would definitely would like to know what world's he's conquered that give him this type superiority complex, to demean the fighter's he's mentioned.
This kind of arrogance is usually comes from their own pent up frustration's, due to their own failure's, and or inadequacies, which cause them to lash out at other's.

No excuses, but here's an excuse - that bothered me a bit.
Apparently Rivera does make excuses, but even worse then that he doesn't have the decency to give the more skillful Martin his prop's.

I think he is being gracious and giving Martin his props. I dont think he's reaching for excuses either. He isn't wrong. I liked his response.

"I tried to use my jab to keep him off me. He was the better guy [Saturday]. I won’t take anything from him."

Reading comprehension is rare these days. Perhaps, you didn't really understand everything in the article or you might just be hating? The guy is giving him his props and clearly said he was the better guy that night. Oh, and the word you were looking for is 'than' not then.

But then he blamed weight cut, which is a slipped in excuse.

Rivera made it a point to stress his own failures in the fight first, before saying that Martin was the better fighter.
He also made another excuse about feeling the effect's of cutting weight to make the 135 pound limit, maybe you missed that.
When you make excuse's like losing weight, my jab wasn't working, your trying to take away from the other fighters performance because you were hindered.
I understood exactly what he was saying, oh, and by the way using one word as opposed to the other (then/than) on common error's in grammar.
I have no reason to hate Rivera, he doesn't come off as an arrogant or disrespectful individual.
I will say this in closing Rivera's been rattled, and dropped in more than one of his fight's. So if he's moving up to the 140 pound weight division, that won't bode well for his chin. The bottom line is that no one like's to lose, and when they do it's about what you did wrong, not what your opponent did right.

                Fair enough. I'll take it.

I can respect you understanding my explanation, in regards to my original post. I take issue about some of the comment's made on this platform as well.
There are subscriber's on here that aren't so interested in the sport, as they are in spreading their racist, political, or hateful views, due to their inner demon's.
I just love watching great fight's like Leonard vs Hearns, Norton vs Holmes, Chacon vs Edwards, Arguello vs Pryor, Escalera vs Arguello, Gomez vs Zarate, etc, etc, etc.

Took his L like a man. I salute you! It’s very rare to see that in boxing nowadays.
