Comments Thread For: Raul Curiel Scores Second-Round Knockout Of Brad Solomon In DAZN Headliner

Raul Curiel landed the fastest win of his career in his most significant fight to date. A left uppercut caused Brad Solomon to turn away as he fell to the canvas, where he remained for the duration of their DAZN-aired main event. Referee Ray Corona reached the count of ten, providing Curiel with a knockout win at 0:44 of round two in their welterweight bout Saturday evening at Commerce Casino & Hotel in Commerce, California.

Solomon simply showed up for the paycheck. Took a 10 count from the weakest uppercut ever.

He took brutal beatings in a row by Rocha and Cobbs after Ortiz knocked him out, heck he lost to Ramon Barajas (14-30-0) last time he fought. If Curiel wants to impress he has to fight someone like Gabriel Maestre, Ryota Toyoshima or anyone near his ranking position.

Easy win for Curiel and I agree would like to see him step it up kid can crack and cuts the ring nicely.

I always felt like Solomon was always a good boxer, skillwise, but he was always going to end up having issues because he has little to no power and his chin just couldn’t hold up either. Just unfortunate, He does everything well, fundamentally. Alongside age, his lack of power and ability to take a punch now makes him just such an easy win a lot of boxers.

Please make the Maestre fight... and win Maestre doesn’t deserve his ranking. Myke Fox got dominated & destroyed by Kavaliauskas recently; but he beat Maestre & was robbed.

That was a light uppercut. That wasn’t a contest. Too many DAZN contests are mismatches. Solomon looked fat. Likewise DeLahoya looked far, fighting a guy who was terrible. A joke of matchmaking. Looked like a college smoker.

Too bad Fox's career derailed because of the robbery, could had developed more as he was a 25-year-old prospect and was unable to get fights.

Raul Curiel might be able to pull it off, he reminds me of Johnny Gonzalez except he is better rounded.

Actor of the year goes to Solomon. He just topped Malik Scott and Delahoya himself against Hopkins.

Solomon was once a top prospect and Amateur looked every bit like an old shop worn veteran seeking a payday. He was so off that if not careful will have some serious health problems looking at his body reactions, very sad to see a fighter at this point in life. It’s not worth it, find another career to provide for you. Promoters should be ashamed of themselves for this deadly mess!
