Prime Shaq would've been the GOAT heavyweight.

Hell no. His frame is not meant for boxing. A guy like Giannis would have a better shot. You can’t genetically discriminate with boxing like you can with basketball though. Look at the current HW champion, does Tyson Fury look like a supreme athlete?

I think Shaq is too slow. He would be successful but I could see him getting outworked

Disagree with you about Giannis. He doesn't have that kind of snap that Zion has. Not the same fast twitch, explosive muscles.

The sports science people make a link between jump height and punch power so there could be something in this but I'm wary of the "super athlete" theory when it comes to boxing.
Eubank Jr for example is a phenomenal athlete but he'll never win a title. There was also a heavyweight called Michael Grant in the 90's.

Nah. Shaq was destroyed by a retired Shane Mosley and a coke sniffing Oscar.

Dude, Zion's injury prone, tends to gain weight and be lazy

Plus, we don't know whether he likes to be hit or not or likes hitting other people.

He may not be mean enough.

And I'll take a prime LeBron as a better "physical specimen" than Zion.

He was 6'8" 250 as a young player and got up to 270 without becoming a fat ass or becoming injury prone until he got old.

I don't know much about the young ones, but Shaq's well known for being lazy, emotional, and didn't care for hack-a-shaq because he got legitimately hurt by men who he out weighed by 100lbs. Plus he's been beaten by child sized "men"
