Floyd Fought Far Better Competition Than Cotto: Why the Double Standard?

Why is there such a double standard? No one ever talks about how weak Cotto's resume is but all the haters want to rag on Floyd's resume. Yet if you look at them together it's not even close. Floyd has fought the far better opposition and Cotto fought nothing but no names for the majority of his career.

    Decent names on Cotto's resume:

    1. Victoriano Sosa. But OOPS Mayweather had already softened up and owned a much fresher Sosa who had only 2 losses by 119-107 owning him. Cotto takes Mayweather's leftovers.

    2. Demarcus Corley. Oops. Mayweather had already ruined and owned him too, knocking him down 2 times. Cotto finished him but Corley famously almost ended Cotto's run by putting him on ***** street all over the ring the same way Torres did.

Then there's some more of the new guard B level fighters. Malignaggi, Judah, Gomez, Jennings (lol).

The only top name on there is Mosley who many felt beat Cotto anyway. Clottey is a good name too and once again many felt he beat him.
Now he's picking on a tiny Pacman like Mayweather did to JMM (double standards?)

    Mayweather had names like
    1. a basically unbeaten Jesus Chavez
    2. Corrales
    3. Castillo (twice)
    4. De la Hoya
    5. Hatton
    6. JMM
    7. Judah

Notice, these are all some of the biggest names of the sport over the last decade at the lower weight divisions.

So you gonna tell me that Cotto's A-list opponents Clottey, Mosley, Malignaggi and Judah are better than Corrales, Castillo, DLH, Hatton, JMM, etc?

So why the double standard then?

Well, of course it's a given that Floyd is the best and thus the stanards by which he is judged are the highest. But you haters have to give him at least SOME credit at least because some of you make it sound like he's a complete bum who has never fought anybody while simultaneously praising Cotto. Yet as proven here Cotto's resume pales in comparison so check yourselves fools.

Nobody is saying mayweathers reacord is wack, because 135 and below is a very good resume. But 140 and above is pure bull****, except Zab and DLH!!!

Cottos WW resume ****s on Mayweathers resume at 140 and above.

And Cotto have faed 1 gold medalist 5 undefeted fighters and 12 champs or former champs.

Who says that? There was a poll on here and most said Cotto won. The only person I can think of who doesn't believe he won is Iceta.

          Cotto is a greater WW

Floyd is a greater overall fighter ( Higher in ATG lists etc )

No one tries to say that Cotto's resume, top to bottom, is as good as Floyd's.

Cotto's resume at JWW and WW are better, but Floyd was a HOF for what he did at 130-135...everything else is icing on the cake.

No one is questioning career opposition. Its what he's done at welterweight that is in question.

Cotto has done much more at welterweight than Floyd, in less time.

Well Mayweather is 3 1/2 years older and has been fighting as a pro for 4 1/2 more years, for starters. In regards to Pac, he beat the ring champ at 140 and has fought at 147, while JMM had never fought above 135.

Cotto's resume at WW and JWW, craps all over Floyd's.
