Packy sounds like he don't wanna fight no more. He sounds like it is not in him anymore. He said Ricky was supposed to be his last fight because his mom don't want him to fight anymore and the elections were far off thats why he took the fight. He wants to be a politician. I hope he has his heart into it against Cotto at least.

Pound for pound king Manny Pacquiao is bent on running for office that he’s set his eyes on retiring next year.
But his long-time trainer Freddie Roach has one piece of advice to his politics-bound ward: Beat Floyd Mayweather, Jr. first in an ultimate battle for the mythical P4P title before hanging up your gloves.
“I would like (Manny) to finish with beating Mayweather," Roach said in an interview in Baguio City, where Team Pacquiao is encamped for the Pacman’s training for his upcoming fight with Miguel Cotto.
Pacquiao reasserted his decision to vie for a congressional seat next year, a sign that he was ready to call it a day insofar as his illustrious boxing career is concerned.
"Buo na ang pasya ko. Talagang tatakbo ako," Pacquiao told mediamen at the Baguio City Hall Thursday, when he paid Mayor Reinaldo Bautista, Jr. a courtesy call.
“I will be announcing that (candidacy). Alam mo, kung magserbisyo ka sa mga tao, serbisyo talaga yan e. Ayaw na sana ako palabanin ng mama at pamilya ko. Sabi niya noon, last na yung kay (Ricky) Hatton, sabi ko hindi kasi malayo pa naman ang eleksyion. Pwede pa ako lumaban."
Roach said he would not dissuade his prized pupil from pursuing his political plans and turning his back on boxing.
"I have no problem if he retires. What more can he ask for? He is the greatest fighter of all time," Roach said.
But of course, such greatness won’t be complete without one of the best fighters in this era – Mayweather – in Pacquiao's list of victims. - GMANews.TV

Manny wants to fight Mayweather even before the Hatton fight has been made. He wants to settle who is really better between him and has been quoted saying Mayweather is "he is good but not that good". I remember also Roach told Mayweather after he announced his comeback on the day Hatton vs Pacquiao fight pathetically trying to steal the limelight. Roach said "We been looking for you and should tell us early" has been quoted something like this to Mayweather.
I understand what Roach means about "Floyd Needs Pacquiao, We Don't Need Him". We all know Floyd's financial problem and the IRS has been chasing him for quite sometimes now. Thats why he came out from retirement so that he can settle his money issue. In negotiation, Mayweather firmly believes he deserve the much bigger piece of the money. This where the problem lies. We also know he doesn't want a piece of a pure WW fighters like Cotto, Margarito or Mosley before thats why he retired. So the only way to have a big fight big money without risking his "0" is to fight the smaller guy like JMM or Manny Pacquiao. Unlike Pac if he wins against Cotto, he can fight Mosley for another big money fight or simply retire into politics.Last edited by whirlwind; 09-24-2009, 02:22 PM.
