I am a fan of female boxing but I have to admit, I lose a bit of interest when discussing shields, mayer, marshall, and all the rest. It's just hard to watch them with such poor skills, even though they try. I'm only ever really engaged watching Katie Taylor, now that is a proper fighter who is fully watched and respected by the top male fighters. Unfortunately until a new wave of younger aggressive female fighters who have skills on Katie Taylor levels, then the female code will languish. If only the rest would train and learn like Katie Taylor.

I don’t always agree with your view, but I see you did not mention baumgardner, is it that you acknowledge the skill, also k.T ,it’s possible that old hearts do change??

I have it the complete opposite. Shields, Mayer, Marshall, and Baumgardner all have good boxing technique and skills, whilst Taylor appears to just flail her arms around most of the time.

Then you are most likely blinded by Katie white akin so. Katie Taylor is the most skillful I've ever seen in the female ranks. I do think Baum Gardner is coming on nicely, a little conservative though in my opinion, she needs engage a bit more. She will lose the mayer rematch if s

She remains conservative. I think Baum Gardner has the best skills after Katie Taylor and is best placed to take over as the number 1 star when Katie retires. Unfortunately for shields she will always be hampered by fighting at 160 168. Nobody is interested at those weights.
