I thought Mayer lost legit in a close one. She wouldn't have given Baumgardner a rematch if the shoe was on the other foot, and would be pursuing a unification with Choi now just like Baumgardner is.

I am a fan of female boxing but I have to admit, I lose a bit of interest when discussing shields, mayer, marshall, and all the rest. It's just hard to watch them with such poor skills, even though they try. I'm only ever really engaged watching Katie Taylor, now that is a proper fighter who is fully watched and respected by the top male fighters. Unfortunately until a new wave of younger aggressive female fighters who have skills on Katie Taylor levels, then the female code will languish. If only the rest would train and learn like Katie Taylor.
