Yup, and then came back and made dude quit out of frustration thus creating the catch phrase "No Mas"

Which moment do you think people talk about the most?

Hmm both fights were talked about alot but probably "NO mas" were Duran was fat and untrained

But if floyd lost to Marquez then beat him you think people would let him live that **** down? Lot of these older fighters are lucky the internet was not around back then, no matter how great Duran was SRL still lost to a 135 pounder..

          You're missing the point.

Ray came back and fought not only THE fight people wanted to see, but he also took a risk in fighting Hagler. A good amount of Floyd fans are mad because people are calling him out on that same notion. Now it would be one thing if Floyd had previously taken a loss, took time off, and then came back a gradually moved up to another big fight. But Floyd left on top, as Ray did as well. The difference is one guy went for the gusto while the other took the easy route and wanted the same type of reception.

Why is it out of all the top fighters in the last 20-30 yrs does he (meaning Floyd) receive the most scrutiny?

Probably cause he is the most talented skill wise and we have the internet now imo. Sure i would have liked to have seen him come straight out and faced Mosley but im not fussed just glad to see him back.

Nah and I feel you on that, I'm happy as hell he's back. I just think he could've really made an impact by fighting Mosley (who I think he could beat) in his return bout.

There are fighters today who fight for legacy & are willing to fight the best,Cotto,Mosley & the Punisher do,just to name a few!!People have the nerve to criticize Cotto for Gomez & Jennings, but they must not have seen him battle the top welterweights,or just laying an ignorant ear indefence of the only welterweight who hasn't fought a top 10 guy, shame, shame!!

Sugar Ray Leonard is one of the ATG's of the sport. Don't compare him with Floyd Mayweather.

Yea he woulda gone str8 to SSM. But it ain't wrong whatsoever for Mr boat buyer to have wanted a tuneup fight after a long sabbatical. It was just ***** for him to choose a LW for it.
