Comments Thread For: Jermell Charlo: I Don't Get The Respect I Deserve; I Guess In The P4P, You Gotta Be Liked

Jermell Charlo has been boxing's first fully unified 154-pound champion for seven months. His most recent bout, a 10th-round knockout of previously unbeaten Brian Castano on May 14, was one of the most fan-friendly fights of 2022. The Houston native also has avenged the lone loss on his record, a close decision defeat to Tony Harrison, by knocking out Harrison in the 11th round of their rematch.

Jermell is right, not putting the undisputed champion that knocked out all of the other champions to get their straps on the P4P list is disrespectful. The guy walks around with a chip on his shoulder, fighting anyone that is in his way to his goals. I don't understand the hate the media has for this man, even on the other list, they had him at 9. I don't know 9 current fighters that are doing what he's done, or are better at the sport. Its alright, just keep beating up every high ranking boxer at 154 or 160, and they won't have to give it, he's taking it.

To a certain extent, that is true Jermell. That said at 154 pounds you're the top dog, Tim Tszyu isn't going to get his 22nd win at your expense.
He might put up a significant challenge, but he will suffer his first loss at your more than capable hands/fist's come 1/28/2023 in Las Vegas!

Hustle's got that right, it's the Jermall Charlo, not Jermell Charlo who has come under scrutiny for certain decisions in the past few year's.
Jermell has done everything within his power to get to the top of his boxing division, beating every significant challenger he's fought.

Probably because he doesn't have a win over a truly recognizable name and he's in one of the tweener divisions, that's historically not been too great.

He's obviously the better brother and he deserves his respect but he needs a standout victory and it could well be Crawford if PBC ever let him off the leash.

Andrade vacated his belt in order not to fight Jermell. He ducked him when he thought that he was the bigger name, and sat out for almost 2 years. Once the Charlos gained notoriety and championships during his inactivity, Andrade came back asking for the fights.
Both Charlos froze him out and refused the fight initially. But, Jermall eventually said that he would, that's until Andrade and his promoter tried to go around Haymon by offering Charlo 7 million to fight him on DAZN. Jermall turned it down, as he should, because he didn't want to destroy his business dealings with Showtime and Al, which is also where his promotional company, Lions Only, has an exclusive deal. But people call that a duck, laughable. My bad Hustle, meant to send this to the other guy.
