    Floyd Carried Marquez

Come on now we all know he could have knocked marquez out within the first 30 seconds of the fight if he wanted to. It's his corner and trainers always telling him to take it slow. I think he did it so less people would complain about it being too short a fight or a mismatch.. floyd only threw a couple 2 punch cobinations in the whole fight from what i remember, and he was actually on the offense the whole time, just 1 punch at a time. if you watch him against corley, or some of these other guys you know hes got some great combos and could have easily lit marquez up at will. he probably went harder on his sparring partner in the 24/7 than he did on marquez.

also an article about floyd's hit list.. which includes mosley, cotto, and pacquaio

he didn't carry marquez, he was going for the kill in the later rounds, even hbo noticed it.. he couldn't get it though.

He carried him through the mid rounds but around 10 and 11 he was trying to knock him out...but he didn't take a risk and let his hands go...he was trying to hurt him with one shot and then follow up...

I'm over this fight tho, I'm more interested in his next move...

Floyd couldnt have knocked out Marquez in the 1st 30 seconds if his life depended on it.

Floyd could have knocked out Marquez at any point after the 7th rd in my opinion. But jabbing him to death isnt anywhere near my definition of "goin for the kill"

There would have been no need for Floyd to really hurt JMM. It was apparent that JMM was no threat to Floyd after 6-7 rounds, and it really wouldn't have made Floyd look good to ko a blown up fw. Also Floyd knew this was a sham, Floyd knew that after the weigh in bs JMM knew this was a sham and JMM was still willing to take his beating for pay anyway. I think Floyd respected JMM for going into this situation where the result was most likely to end the way it did or worse....this is why I think he carried him.

I think floyd didnt want to end it in the 2nd round (where he really could) because he needed more fight time to shake the rust. But at the same time, many ppl are giving too little credit to Marquez. The guy is tough, never been knocked out, and plus, he was always answering back with combination when floyd tried his (he just couldnt hit him because floyd goes from offence to defence in a nano second).

I also think Mayweather didnt want to get injuried someway and delay his next fight, by being accidentally cut, while preserve his hands for the future bouts (thats why he prolly dosed his power in many of his power punches so he still can be felt dangerous while staying composed).

He could went toe to toe with Marquez cause its clear he could more than take his punches. But marquez is always game, awkward rythm and sharpness on his combos (just ask pac or diaz) so i think he choose to fight him from the distance, where JMM couldnt counter him at all and just put down a boxing clinic and come out without a scratch.

if you can finish the fight early, why not do it?
why give your opponent another chance, another round to come back?

and if you know for sure that your opponent have 0% chance of hurting you for 12rds.
then its not a fight at all..

Floyd was fighting JMM like JMM was a middleweight. Even when he duped JMM on the scales and outweighing him by at least 10lbs he still played it extra safe.

Floyd was definitley looking for a KO, but his definition of it is far different from anyone elses.

The excuse for the JMM fight is, "he wanted to shake his ring rust/he respects JMM too much to KO him"

Hatton " he didnt KO hatton in 2 rounds because he wanted to punish him first"

De la hoya "floyd was outweighed by 25lbs and had 14oz gloves"

I agree, it made me mad and still makes me mad that he pot shotted a lightweight he could have KOed at any point.
