There's always been something special about boxing nicknames. They add an element of personality and flair to the sport that's often missing in other sports. And with the proliferation of social media, they've become even more important in helping fans connect with their favorite fighters.
With that in mind, here are some of the best new nicknames in boxing:
1. 'The Destroyer' – Gennady Golovkin
2. 'The Road Warrior' – Tony Bellew
3. 'The Celtic Warrior' – Michael Conlan
4. 'The Gentleman' – Carl Frampton
5. 'The Machine' – Sergey Kovalev
6. 'The Nightmare' – Dmitry Bivol
7. 'The Russian Hammer' – Artur Beterbiev
8. 'The Sniper' – Vasyl Lomachenko
9. 'The Monster' – Deontay Wilder
10. 'The Fighter' – Manny PacquiaoComment

I've been hoping for a real nickname for Bivol, but although he is one, the Nightmare has already been taken. I'm sure it has been used before, but I like 'The Iceman' for Bivol. Or how about 'The Surgeon'?There's always been something special about boxing nicknames. They add an element of personality and flair to the sport that's often missing in other sports. Also, King Artur is the perfect nickname for Beterbiev. The hammer thing would work if there was still a Soviet Union.Comment

I made a mistake too. There’s already a Monster and it’s Inoue. I will have to change my list around.

I really like the Surgeon though. The Surgeon would be a great nickname for Dimitri Bivol because of his methodical and efficient approach to boxing. He is always looking to land the perfect shot and has a great sense of timing and accuracy. He also has a very calm and relaxed demeanour in the ring, which belies his controlled brutality.Last edited by Ghost Jab; 12-10-2022, 06:40 PM.Comment

Very well stated. Controlled brutality. I love that.
