Nobody stated that Crawford should just sit around, he should have already fought earlier in the year, Spence did. Not only did Errol fight, he fought for another strap. Bud sat around on his ass waiting on the opportunity to jump at a big check.

Also, if he was going to walk away and use the, " I had to get a fight in before the year was over," excuse, he could have at least chose an opponent that would make it appear that he cared about facing the best competition available. Boots, Stanionis, Virgil, Thurman, or even Butaev would have quieted the storm that came after news of him walking away went public.

I just had to say that. We live in some really weird times.

Every boxer and especially upcoming guys or past champions will go after the belt holders. You and I know that in boxing, having belts gives you leverage to negotiate better deals so someone like Boots has literally no shot unless Bud or Spence is forced to fight him as a mandatory.

Between Spence and Bud, I’d say Bud is more to blame because he’s been sitting atop the P4P ranking for so long with a weak resume and Spence has 3 trinkets so the onus is on Bud to force that fight to happen especially as a free agent.

Porter is the only who took the bait bc he got paid 2x his highest ever payday and he had nothing else to offer Haymon, other than sending him to 154 to get the breaks beaten off of him but Kenny wasn't going to let that happen.
