Hatton's wrestling tactics worked better over smaller opponents at 140, but Hatton was towards the end of his career and being allowed to come in heavier against Floyd worked in his favor.

Hatton was ballooning up in weight too much, and that takes its toll on a fighter sooner or later. This is why after being ruined by Mayweather, Hatton performed so badly against Laczano. The weight loss of draining down to 140 caused his face to easily bruise. This is why against Floyd he had minor bruising, but against Lazcano and Malignaggi at 140 he looked like minced meat.

This coincides with Roach' comments on DLH. He said the weight loss aged his body and hurt his punch resistance, which is why he suffered no bruising against Hopkins, Trinidad, or Mayweather, but was busted up by feather fisted Forbes when he drained down to 150, and why he was busted up by Pacquiao when he went down to 145. Roach said that when a fighter loses weight at the end of their career, their face is easily bruised and cut.

He beat a weight-drained version on the brink of retirement.

Morales, when he had his legs, outboxed Pacquiao winning by UD.

Pacquiao lost to Erik Morales, and struggled with him in the rematch.

Raheem dominated Morales and won every round against him.
