Not counting GGG, name me 3 pound for pound fighters that Canelo has beaten. Don’t you dare say Plant or Callum Smith.

That probably wasn't his point. How many active fighters have? "Elite pound for pound" fighters by definition are hard to come by. Full appraisal of a fighter's career is reserved until the end.

I know you probably think you're being a hard nosed realist or something, but you just come across as another miserable boxing fan who should probably watch something else.

The fighter NSB posters are most clamouring to see Canelo face is Benavidez. Is he "elite pound for pound"?

I wouldn’t put Benavidez in that discussion yet. He has yet to prove himself. His best wins are against Anthony Dirrell and a washed up Lemieux.

Okay, but doesn't that demonstrate how difficult it is for fighters to face "elite pound for pound" boxers? I'm not criticising you, but the other guy who brought it up.

No, you’re absolutely right. A win over a quality opponent is still good regardless if he’s in the p4p list or not. We’re in a different era of boxing now. It’s near impossible to have a resume full of wins against elite p4p fighters. Benavidez has a chance to make a statement against Plant and he is probably the second best fighter in the division.
