Michael Spinks was the true light heavyweight champion who moved up and defeated an incredibly dominant heavyweight champion and stopped him from tying Rocky Marciano's record. Granted Marciano got some dubious decisions in that span while Holmes' wins were never really doubted. Michael Moorer was just a titlist but he was the first southpaw to ever become heavyweight champion (even though he is really right-handed) and he did beat a prime Holyfield, but it was later revealed that Evander suffered some form of heart ailment in and around that time.

you could say witherspoon and carl williams could have gone the other way. i think spinks over holmes was better since moorer and holyfield are near the same size since holyfield came up from cruiser.
