Comments Thread For: Referee Carlos Padilla Admits He Helped Pacquiao Win Fight in 2000; Opponent, Family of Ref Respond

Manny Pacquiao is one of the greatest boxers of the 21st century, but before the Filipino hero reached global superstardom, he apparently benefited, on one occasion, from a referee's unseemly assist.

Yet another example of how one's life is decided by lucky or unlucky coincidences.

And yet the son says he's an honorable man. Yeah, sure he is. Basically took the fight from another boxer who had put in the work to try and make a decent living. Yet the ref laughs about the incident. I find nothing funny about that and I am willing to bet that neither does the other boxer. That ref is nothing short of a scumbag. The sad part about this is that I'm sure plenty more have done the same.

That Hussein is a b1tch. So Manny had a long count and not a point deducted - that's it?? Same as thousands of fights?? Manny was still winning the fight on scorecards and Hussein had a cut that was not an imaginary cut. Hussein is a b1tch. Have a rematch now with Manny you b1tch.

Wow! I don’t understand how *******s like you are into boxing. I mean I get you like sniffing anuses and sucking on scrötums but come on! What’s with the toxic hate?
Hussein was robbed of a victory. It changed the trajectory of his career. Meanwhile, PAC got three other dubious wins on Marquez plus the long su****ions that he was on PEDs with Alex Ariza cooling up his usual.

I suggest you get into ****** pörn. Your anger will be good in it.

              oh man

Why not write an article when Steele, Cortez or Bayless helped fighters?

I said it in the other thread...this fight changed Hussein's life and career. Which he himself admits.

Having an extra hundred grand and being able to buy a house and not being set back 4 years would have brought stability.

I can't believe your husband is letting you use the internet unsupervised, miss. Now, Hussein would have lost anyway because he was losing on the cards and he is a fringe level contender. Maybe Pac used peds, but maybe 90% of champions also did in that era...
