Bivol did land but his handspeed is insane at LHW.

what good is power if you can't land it.

Holyfield knocked out Tyson but couldn't land flush on James Toney.

      don't they watch tapes?

Defensive fighters kryptonite is speed. RJJ beat both Hopkins and Toney. Bivol would beat Canelo 10/10 times.

but Hopkins beat Tarver easily and went onto have more long term success at heavier weights. Same as James Toney as he moved up in weight. Toney beat better fighters at heavyweight too.

That slick defensive style is MADE for slow sluggers like Beterbiev. Canelo is the same ilk as Toney.

His handspeed is good for "LHW standards". Not for Canelo. Canelo fought faster fighters than him. Bivol's accuracy was just 22% and that 22% was most of rolled and softed punches by Canelo.

Canelo's problem is that he is not training for straight punches. His defensive style is based on hooks. He trained for Jacobs' jabs and everyone saw what he did. I don't even think Bivol's hands are faster than 160 version of Jacobs.

Canelo can beat Beterbiev. Even faded Kovalev was better boxer than him. But, TKO is possibly in the fight. Beterbiev is big LHW unlike Bivol. If the fight goes decision, I would favour Canelo too.

I thought it was a joke when people were asking for Canelo vs Beterbiev.

Now those people are saying Beterbiev is an Easier fight than Bivol ?

          Beterbiev / TKO / Late
Canelo better stear clear of Artur.

no. Bivol is faster at LHW than Jacobs was at MW.

Bivol doesn't use his size in fights. everything is from a distance and he has less reach than Jacobs.

Look how he lands on Canelo then compare to how Jacobs miss. they are not even close.

I still think fighters are struggling with Bivol because of his punching style not his handspeed. 99% of his arsenal is cross and jab. He rarely trying uppercut and has mediocre hook. He is an exception.

Khan, Mayweather, Plant, Lara, Saunders had better handspeed than Bivol and Canelo beat all of them except Floyd. And, Floyd beat him because of his counter punching and defense not only speed.

Doesn't matter if other fighters are faster than Beterbiev, Canelo still has no answers for the jab. Beterbiev has a solid jab himself and it's ****ing heavy. We'd see a more defensive minded Canelo than we've ever seen because Artur's shots aren't one that you want to keep getting hit by.

                  This thread is absurd.

Gvozdyk and Browne are both exceedingly more athletic than Canelo. The two are faster in both hand and foot, and much bigger men than Canelo in addition. Look at what King Artur did to them. Beterbiev cuts off the ring very well and hits like a heavyweight. Alvarez is a plodder whose power doesn't carry to 175. King Artur will smash him to bits.

Canelo’s not a 175 lber. He loses too much speed and power at 175.

Even brook made ggg look not that good until his face gave in. I'm sure floyd could have made ggg look ordinary. But the thought of fighting someone bigger, stronger takes bravery.
