Seems realistic. I couldn't believe the size difference when they entered the ring. It never really showed up properly until then.

People are so crazy. They are going so overboard with this Floyd being huge stuff. If boxing was about same day weigh-ins then Floyd would be the #1 guy in boxing and #2 would be miles behind. There is no fighter at all in the sport who fights near his walk around weight except Floyd. I also think its a joke to say this about a Pac-Floyd fight when Floyd is well known for entering his ring pretty much spot on of his weigh-in weight and Pac was at SFW coming into the ring at 130.

Its so crazy how everyone thihks Floyd was 160 in the ring. He wasnt even close. Go look at him & Mosley side by side at the post fight presser. If Floyd was 160 then Mosley had to be atleast over 180. Floyd could care less about a same day weighin but that would be so unfair to penalize him like that since no one else ever does it and Floyd is 99% of the time on the other end of these things. Its a joke. If Pac had to have the same day weigh-in stuff in his career then he would have like 10 losses right now while Floyd would be undefeated. Come on now. Floyd fighting Zab & Baldy at WW coming into the ring at 146-148 pounds while Pac fights EM at SFW right after that coming into the ring at 147. Get real man. Meanwhile Baldomire blows up to 165 pounds. No one had a problem when Cotto was at SLW coming into the ring at 157 pounds. Its a joke how people treat Floyd

I bet the excuse for not doing this would be that they would lose money from having the weigh in on the same day, as most big fights have large crowd attendance for weigh ins (I'm assuming the fans pay to watch them although I don't know.)
It's also works as a huge advert for the fight. Weigh ins always make news headlines on the radio and TV the day before the fight so it kind of works as a good PR excersize.

It's a great idea though, I've never really understood why this isn't mandatory.

That's more like ik. His forearms, and biceps were bigger than ever. Floyd was never a build WW, he was more athletic ripped. He looked big and muscular against Marquez.

I would say a lot of fighters do.

Not Ricky though unless he's planning on fighting Valuev next.

That is ******! I would let Floyd starve. Manny can make his money fighting others rather than fight Floyd for 70/30.

50/50 and I love the same day weigh in!

I think the JMM fight weigh-in proved that Floyd couldn't make 144. If that was close to his walk-around weight I'm sure he would have taken a **** and saved 600,000 dollars. So it's obvious that Floyd no longer walks around at 147.

are same day weigh-ins legal (even if both fighters agree to it)?
