Boxing Headgear doesn't protect the chin. This aint fencing. Certain headgear does have a nose guard but USAboxing approved headgear is open face.

Your temples and ears are protected though. Those are some areas that cause knockouts.

Lastly, those headgear with the nose guard have to be fitted perfect or they can cause more damage than protect.
