Can't fault Pacquiao, though. Arum had the pull and connections to help
Manny's star rise. After the Cotto fight though, Manny should decide to buy himself out of his contract.

The staggering amount he stands to make against Floyd is mind boggling.

Pac was not a star before he signed with Arum. When he was with that clown, Murad Muhammad, he was getting ripped off and wasn't being promoted properly because Murad Muhammad is not a legitimate promoter. Pac is the product of great promotion aka matchmaking and great training. I don't think Pac's star power will extend beyond Cotto. If Cotto doesn't stop him, he will be ko'd if he gets in the ring with Mayweather. That is why Arum was talking about putting him in another fight before a Mayweather fight. Also, I don't think Pac can beat Nate Campbell or Timothy Bradley at 140.

That's why I don't knock Manny for being with Arum. Being with Arum has proven to be a blessing. Now that his star has risen, he can choose to be

You must be new. HBO is actually a charitable organization, and all the fighters on the undercard happen to really like Floyd Mayweather Jr. I read somewhere, they like how flashy he is. Also, MGM is attempting to recoop it's losses for "lending out" the venue by selling t-shirts & beer.
