I mean, I can barely find any sports bars that'll show a boxing ppv around here. But a movie theater is always there. Advertising a fight in a movie theater and saying it will be on PPV in a theater might get casual movie goers to watch the fight.
If HBO showed more boxing ads like movie previews on cable, then more people who don't want to shell out 50 bucks, but will shell out 11, will probably watch it.
PPV destroyed boxing. Movie theaters might help revive it.
Of course this sort of thing can only happen when a fight is destined to be good. Like the Pac - Cotto fight. Or Margarito - Cotto.
