  • Biggest Underachiever?

One that definitely comes to mind is David Tua. I thought at the beginning of Tua's career, that he had the physical tools to maybe become the next Mike Tyson. Boy, was I ever wrong?

Also you can't leave Zab out of this. Zab, as I believe Larry Merchant or Lampley once put it: Suffers from the curse of the gifted. Meaning he tried to win too many fights on his reflexes, without using basic boxing fundamentals. He also never managed to work out his footwork. I can't count the times Zab got caught because his feet were too close together. Surely Zab has learned by now when you fight orthodox fighters, you need to keep your right foot on the outside of his left?

Rid**** Bowe. Bowe because I believe at his peak was the best and most physically gifted HW since Ali. His peak was just way too short due to his laziness, weirdness and his "Rock Newman ess".

Shadows, I sure hope you're right! Much is said about Taylor's stamina problems, chin, etc. I think one of his biggest downfalls is his inability to finish guys once they are hurt. Look at Pavlik.. down in round 2.. Taylor let him of the hook. Froch... down in round 3 and really shaky... Taylor let him off the hook. Had Taylor been able to finish guys off, he would still be undefeated with a draw against Winky.

Malcolm Tann-------Beat undefeated Derrick Kaisershot to win the National Golden Gloves, then went pro and failed to live up to his expectations.

As for Kaisershot, may he rest in peace!

I think chinny guys have that in them. They fear of getting caught. Although Taylor isn't chinny as such, he has that fear in him. That explains a lot of why he is considered boring, almost like how Lennox Lewis was called boring by some.
