Based on the fact that the only acceptable opponent options in the fans eyes are getting his ass whooped by Bivol or getting his ass whooped by Benavidez, of course he’s going to use the tune up excuse to get himself a little more time (following what’s being reported as surgery to have calluses removed) to need a soft touch in may. Meanwhile Spence was on his deathbed and came back to fight a former 2 division world champion. Wilder came back from a brutal beat down and an extended layoff to jump right back in the ring with the man who destroyed him. Usyk came back from a war and went straight to whooping Ajs ass again. Oh well. Hopefully it’s Tank vs Garcia in May which would draw more attention than a canelo tune up fight.

Canelo owes nobody a damn thing. He just beat GGG's a** and if he wants a Bivol rematch so be it. Just sit back enjoy the show and shut the f*** up.

After what we all saw in Alvarez/Bivol-1, it's hard to imagine what Canelo could adjust to beat him. It's similar to the situation with GGG where they can't knock each other out. And Alvarez can't outwork him because Bivol is levels above him in endurance. Alvarez/Bivol-2 will probably be just same song, second verse, same outcome.

Why doesnt Benavidez just fight Bivol and do what Canelo couldn't. Bivol is the man right now. If Benavidez beats Bivol, Canelo will not have another choice but to fight Benavidez.

Benavidez already has a fight with Caleb Plant.

Canelo is entitled to a tuneup after surgery, and then he wants a rematch with Bivol after that. That's not ducking. Bivol is not a "cherrypick."

Exactly. He is taking a tuneup before fighting a guy who is probably top 3 p4p. You don’t duck benevidez to fight someone that is better. Personally I wish he would give up on Bivol and fight the guys at 168 but to say this is a duck is just dumb. And for the record, I don’t like canelo and think he is a drug cheat.

He wants the fight but Bivol doesn't. Bivol has consistently said he doesn't care much for the rematch so why is Canelo insistent on getting it? Him chasing that fight can be seen as ducking Benavidez or Plant.

Fighting Bivol is in no way, shape, or form a duck.
